Before your tan
Exfoliate thoroughly ,
preferably the day before your tan is to be applied. This will
remove dead skin and provide a new, smooth surface for your tan. We
recommend using Sienna's Rough it up to smooth it off exfoliating
wash which is available to purchase.
Exfoliating helps to promote an even coverage and lengthens the
duration of the tan.
- Shave or wax the day before your
application NOT ON THE DAY this will allow pores sufficient time
to close, dotting in pores may occur if not adhered to.
- Moisturise the day before your tan, NOT ON
THE DAY, as any products on the skin will be a barrier for the
tan. Use Sienna Look Good Naked moisturiser paying particular
attention to elbows, knees, ankles and any other problem areas.
- Remove make-up, perfume and deodorant
before your application.
- Paint nails and toenails with clear polish if you
prefer, especially if they are acrylics or similar.
Please help me keep to time by being ready for your spray tan when I
arrive, this includes showering, removing make-up etc. before your
appointment time. Many thanks.
Aftercare
It is recommended that you wear/bring dark loose fitting clothing
for after your tan.
Solution washes out of most clothing very easily but tends to stain
nylon and lycra materials, therefore dark coloured underwear is
recommended. Be careful after your tanning appointment of wearing
long boots as these can make your tan patchy on your legs.
Leave your tan for at least 7 hours and overnight if possible before
showering or taking a bath. This allows your tan time to develop.
Avoid wearing socks or shoes after your tanning session as sweating
can inhibit the development of your tan. Flip-flops are a good choice.
If driving, beware of tan getting onto your seatbelt as this could
later transfer onto your new white top!

- Avoid applying moisturisers or deodorants
until your tan has developed.
- Avoid wearing tight clothing after you
have been sprayed, Tight clothing or underwear may cause marks.
- Avoid getting wet after your tan as this can
inhibit the development.
- Don't shave until 12 hours after your
treatment.
- Don't sit on light coloured fabrics until
you've showered or taken a bath as the colour guide can cause
discolouration.
- Please try to avoid touching your skin
with your hands following your spray tan or you WILL transfer some of the colour
- It's not easy to remove from palms of hands!
Remember. When you take a shower or a bath you
will see some colour wash off. Don't worry. This is quite
normal as it is only the colour guide that is sprayed on when the
tan is applied. You will be left with a gorgeous tan.
Maintaining the Tan
It is recommended you follow these general guidelines to maintain
your tan:
- Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise,
morning and night if possible. Use Sienna Make it Moist, make it
last tan top up with 3% active DHA , so your tan is continually
being topped up and it's life extended (remember to wash your
palms after use) or Sienna Look Good Naked with a hint of
shimmer. Use one in the morning and one in the evening for best
effect.
- After day 5 exfoliate using Sienna Rough
it up to smooth it off on a daily basis to help your skin absorb
even more moisturiser and to prepare for your next tanning
session.
- Avoid long hot baths and showers as these
speed up exfoliation, a quick shower is the best choice. The
longer you are in water the quicker your tan will fade!
- Pat your skin dry after a bath or shower.
Rubbing your skin may rub off your tan.
- Avoid swimming pools as the chlorine will
dramatically reduce your tan
There are a selection of items available for you to purchase
if you wish, these include tan top up moisturiser, exfoliating wash
and top up spray tan in a can. Please see products page for more information.
